Intro: Crazy Rock MusicThis little-known comedy film from 1983 tells the story of a large New Year's Eve rock concert, which is organized by an independent promoter but sabotaged by a ruthless super promoter. Malcolm McDowell plays the British rock jerk Reggie Wank, who has lost his mind and can count how many M&M chocolate candies he ate that day. Lou Reed plays a reclusive folk singer who hasn't left his home for six years but decides to attend the concert. What impressed me the most was the legendary punk sage Lee Ving portraying the lead singer of the Nada band, Piggy. He is completely that type of character: Ving loudly makes a scene, signs a contract by smashing his head into a car trunk, and delivers a powerful version of Willie Dixon's blues classic 'Hoochie Coochie Man' (performed in the film's soundtrack by the band Fear; other members of the band make brief appearances in the film). He even encourages people to jump off the balcony ('Come on! Jump in my face!'). Forget Netflix: you can watch the whole movie at the link above!
