Creasy (played by Denzel Washington) was once a merciless special forces soldier, but after retiring, he is often awakened by nightmares of his killings. Unable to endure the pain, he turns to alcohol to numb his nerves. Seeing that this is not a solution, a friend recommends him to take a job as a private bodyguard in Mexico. Mexico City is known for its high crime rate, with frequent kidnappings; anyone can be taken, whether they have money or not. Creasy is assigned to protect the daughter of a millionaire, Pita (played by Dakota Fanning). The 10-year-old Pita is lively and adorable, and her joyful spirit quickly infects Creasy, making her an angel in his life. However, this good fortune does not last long, as Pita is kidnapped and her ransom is not paid! Creasy is deeply affected by this, and consumed by rage, he decides to take matters into his own hands to seek revenge on the kidnappers.
