Intro: Ji HongchangDuring the Second Domestic Revolutionary War, the 21st Army of the National Revolutionary Army, led by Ji Hongchang (played by Da Qi), was ordered to suppress the Communist Party. Recently, there has been a significant increase in the phenomenon of soldiers going AWOL, which left Ji Hongchang perplexed. During a military exercise, when questioning the reasons for defection, a once-loyal subordinate (played by Zhang Chongxiao) revealed that they no longer wanted to continue suppressing the Communists. Upon hearing this, Ji Hongchang pondered for a long time and decided to disguise himself to investigate the Soviet Area. The Communist Party representative in the Soviet Area, Zhou Guangyuan (played by Zuo Fu), recognized his military identity by his posture and engaged him in heartfelt discussion, clearly stating the political stance of the Communist Party. After listening, Ji Hongchang had an epiphany. After the January 28 Incident broke out, Ji Hongchang was forced to go abroad for investigation by Chiang Kai-shek, and upon his furious return to resist the Japanese invasion, Chiang attempted to lure him to turn against the Communists. Outraged, Ji Hongchang resolutely joined the Communist Party. Soon after, Ji Hongchang was captured due to injuries, and after failing to persuade him to defect, Chiang Kai-shek extended his evil tentacles towards him...
