At a party, "Sean" reunites with his childhood sweetheart, ex-girlfriend "Alexis", whom he had gradually drifted apart from after Sean's mother left. Alexis's new boyfriend Tom invites her to swim in a dangerous reservoir, where the current suddenly becomes swift and sweeps them away. Soon after, a nearby power tower emits a strong blue-green light that stuns Alexis in the water; when she wakes up again, she has lost her memory and discovers she possesses a powerful magnetic superpower. She finds Sean using the phone number he wrote down for her. Meanwhile, a mysterious organization is urgently searching for Alexis, hoping to uncover the answers to her survival after being electrocuted. As Sean accompanies Alexis in her escape, they gradually unveil secrets about her superpowers and unknown biological experiments...
