Synopsis

Officer Huang Wei (played by Tony Leung) is temporarily assigned to investigate a case involving police misconduct. To gather evidence, Huang Wei takes the risk of going to prison. The prison under Warden Fire Island (played by Ko Chun-hsiung) is filled with violence, injustice, and institutionalized inmate fights. Huang Wei quickly befriends his cellmate, Xiao Zhu (played by Tuo Zonghua), and Liu Shijie (played by Sammo Hung), who has attempted to escape multiple times because he misses his son, and he experiences the initiation into the prison gang led by Da Lin (played by Gao Jie). The pool player Big Hammer (played by Jackie Chan) ends up in prison after accidentally killing the brother of gang leader Steel Marble (played by Andy Lau), and Da Lin is tasked with seeking revenge on Big Hammer. This matter is mediated by the prison boss Gui Lao Da (played by Wang Yu). Huang Wei, Big Hammer, and two others are recruited by the warden into the 'Clear Wind Squad.' During an assassination mission, Huang Wei unexpectedly uncovers the true culprit he has been pursuing for a long time.
