In 1982, a three-person Antarctic research team from Norway was traveling across the ice fields when they unexpectedly discovered a strange ship that was one million years old, along with a mysterious creature frozen in the thick ice nearby. The talented American paleontologist Kate Lloyd (played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead) was invited by Dr. Sandor Halvorson (played by Ulrich Thomsen) to join a group of researchers heading to Antarctica. After careful study, they discovered that this was a life form that had never existed on Earth before. Just as the scientists were celebrating this great discovery with song and dance, the mysterious creature began to thaw out and launched a brutal attack on humanity. After a fierce battle, the monster was ultimately consumed by flames.However, the misfortune was not over; after observing the monster's cells, Kate sensed that a disaster was approaching all of humanity...
