Seventy-year-old national poet Li Shiyao (played by Park Ha-ryul) lives in seclusion in a remote villa, with his daily life managed entirely by his disciple Xu Zhiyou (played by Kim Woo-ryeok), a literary newcomer who is about to publish his first novel titled "Heart." Enjiao (played by Kim Go-eun)'s accidental intrusion disrupts the peaceful life of Li Shiyao and his disciple. Li Shiyao writes a short story with Enjiao as the protagonist, which is discovered by Xu Zhiyou who publishes it under his own name. Unexpectedly, this product of fantasy wins the literary award of the year. Furious, Li Shiyao has a heated argument with Xu Zhiyou, revealing that Xu Zhiyou has never actually written a novel; he is merely Li Shiyao's ghostwriter. All of this is witnessed by Enjiao, who misreads the situation after reading the story and believes that Xu Zhiyou has feelings for her. This slight misunderstanding ultimately leads to a devastating conclusion in the complex relationships among the three.
