In order to enhance the local reputation, the mayor of Oita City, Kenichiro Hanamori (played by Tofu Kazama), decides to form a trendy women's tug-of-war team, with Chiaki Nishikawa (played by Mao Inoue) from the city government's publicity department appointed as the project leader. Although local women's tug-of-war has had its glorious moments, it is no longer what it used to be. Troubled, Chiaki comes up with an idea and decides to organize her mother, Yoko (played by Keiko Matsuzaka), and the other women from the meal delivery center. They agree with the mayor that if they can qualify for the national competition, the order to shut down the meal center will be revoked.
