Logan (played by Zac Efron) is a U.S. Marine sergeant who unexpectedly comes across a photo of a girl during combat. Logan survives multiple battles in Iraq, and his comrades call her his lucky charm. While his fellow soldiers fall to unexpected combat incidents, Logan remains the sole survivor, leading him to view this photo as a talisman and to feel gratitude towards the girl in the picture. After his service ends, he returns to the U.S. determined to find this girl from the photo. Logan walks across several American cities with his dog, asking around until he finally locates the girl named Beth (played by Taylor Schilling). By chance, Logan applies for a job at the animal shelter run by Beth. As they spend more time together, they gradually get to know each other, and Logan, after becoming familiar with Beth's complicated life, develops feelings for her beyond mere gratitude... Based on the novel "The Lucky One" by Nicholas Sparks, also known as "The Notebook of Breakup." This film is the seventh of Sparks' novels to be adapted to the screen.
