In 1912, in order to save her sister who is in a deep coma, the clever and brave French journalist Adèle Blanc-Sec (played by Louise Bourgoin) travels the world in search of a cure. Ignoring her publisher's request to venture into the ancient Inca ruins of Peru, she goes to Egypt in search of the legendary mummy of a pharaoh's famous doctor. After numerous perilous encounters, Adèle finally obtains the mummy and sets off for home. Meanwhile, strange occurrences take place at the Natural History Museum in Paris. A dinosaur egg suddenly hatches a pterodactyl, which attacks a former police chief's convoy that night, causing a nationwide panic. The government demands that the police solve the case within 24 hours. With the revived mummy and the dangerous pterodactyl, Adèle is about to embark on a new adventure...
