Synopsis

In the 1960s, Hong Kong was a chaotic mix of good and bad. The Royal Police under British rule were insatiably greedy, even colluding with the triads to extort money from the citizens. Young inspector Lee Rock (played by Andy Lau) was ambitious, carefully navigating between his British and Chinese superiors while seizing every opportunity to climb the ladder of power. During a gang fight, Lee Rock took notice of the bold and fearless Wu Shihao (played by Donnie Yen). A brotherhood man from Southeast Asia, Wu Shihao was willing to take risks for his brothers. He established his place in the triad through his bravery, while rising to fame alongside Lee Rock through mutual support. Ultimately, the bloodletting Lee Rock and Wu Shihao became heavyweight figures, each mastering the white and the dark side of the law, respectively. However, during this process, the two brothers gradually began to diverge. When the storm comes, everything is about to change...
