Dabao (played by Leung Ka-Yan) and his younger brother Erbao (played by Yuen Biao) are lonely and dependent on each other, with a very strong bond between them. They spend their days idling about, engaging in gambling to try to acquire ill-gotten gains, but they often end up losing their meager savings completely. After being bullied repeatedly, Dabao and Erbao develop the desire to learn martial arts. They become disciples of a master (played by Lau Kar Wing) whom they meet by chance in a restaurant, starting a journey filled with hardships and sweat in their martial arts training. By coincidence, the brothers accidentally discover that their master is actually a notorious bandit in hiding. Upon learning this, the master intends to kill them to silence them. Erbao manages to escape, but Dabao is brutally killed by the master. Filled with grief and anger, Erbao seeks revenge for his brother and coincidentally encounters a beggar (played by Sammo Hung) whom he has met before. However, this beggar's true identity turns out to be a renowned bounty hunter. Under his guidance, Erbao's martial arts skills improve dramatically, and he ultimately avenges his brother, settling the score.
