 Synopsis
The story takes place in the 16th century. Danielle (played by Drew Barrymore) has been inseparable from her father since childhood, but after her father marries her stepmother, Romila (played by Anjelica Huston), he soon dies in an accident. Danielle becomes like Cinderella, yet remains strong, independent, and full of life. By chance, Danielle meets the French prince, Henry (played by Dougray Scott), and saves his life from a bandit, leading them to fall in love with each other. The prince wants to reject the political marriage arranged by his family for her. However, upon learning all of this, the stepmother schemes to marry her own daughter, Margaret (played by Megan Dodds), to the prince and deceitfully claims that Danielle is just a maid in the house. The prince, believing the stepmother's lies, angrily abandons Danielle...
