Hadrian strives to establish a peaceful and harmonious empire, but the Senate incites the warlike sentiment of the people and stirs their bloodthirsty emotions through the bloody slaughters of the gladiatorial arenas. Worried Lucius is urgently appointed and returns to Japan multiple times to seek inspiration, designing healing baths for the injured and exhausted slave warriors, as well as for the imperial heir Ceonius (played by Kazuki Kitamura) who is on an expedition abroad. Thus, he reunites with the former magazine editor turned hot spring editor, Haruzumi Yamamoto (played by Aya Ueto).
