Vera Phillips (played by Keira Knightley) and Caitlin Thomas (played by Sienna Miller) build a deep friendship through their love for the genius poet Dylan Thomas (played by Matthew Rhys). On one hand, Vera is Thomas's childhood soul mate and first love, yet ends up marrying the officer William Click (played by Cillian Murphy) due to Thomas's inability to be faithful.
