Intro： The Gallows of SpringThe play tells the story of Du Kurong, who, under the guidance of communists and influenced by the true goodness and beauty of the world, ultimately returns to the right path in his journey of growth and redemption. Du Kurong is essentially good-hearted, but has become somewhat willful due to his grandmother's pampering and was wrongfully imprisoned. In prison, he meets the communist Mei Yongyuan, who helps him gradually recognize the goodness and righteousness within himself. Du Kurong seeks ways to escape from prison, hoping to uncover the truth behind his case and atone for his past arrogance. After escaping from the detention center, Du Kurong witnesses the harm caused by Wansen to his mother, which makes him suspect that his framing is related to him. Hiding in a crowded dwelling, he begins to help impoverished children and aids the underground party by printing progressive publications. After being discovered, he is locked up in a remote island prison. After escaping from prison, Du Kurong retaliates but is captured and sent to a reeducation institute, where he meets Mei Yongyuan again. After revealing his identity, Mei helps him escape from the reeducation center with a note. Du Kurong is inspired by Mei Yongyuan’s spirit dedicated to the public, undergoes a spiritual transformation, shifts from self to universal, ultimately fulfills the mission entrusted by Mei and learns the truth of his case, punishing the wrongdoers and upholding justice.
