Intro： Aunt Xiao has many cranes.In 1945, Japan was defeated. The eight-year-long war inflicted tremendous trauma on the peoples of both China and Japan. In a village in Northeast China that was populated by Japanese residents, upon learning of the defeat, the villagers collectively committed suicide. A beautiful Japanese girl named Taku (played by Sun Li) was the sole survivor of this tragedy. After numerous hardships and narrowly escaping death, Taku found her way to the home of Zhang Shijian (played by Du Yuan) in Ping'an Town. The Zhang family had suffered greatly during the Anti-Japanese War; the eldest son was killed by the Japanese and the second daughter-in-law, Zhu Xiaohuan (played by Yan Xuejing), lost her ability to bear children due to persecution. Taku’s arrival sparked significant turmoil and conflict within the Zhang household. As she got to know the Zhang family better, Taku was grateful for their care and deeply sympathetic to Xiaohuan's plight, and thus she willingly decided to bear children for Zhang Jian (played by Jiang Wu), the second son of Zhang Shijian, creating a special family in that extraordinary era.
