The outbreak of the civil war forced Lei Yifang and Tong Daqing back to the battlefield, while Zhou Yunfen and her family took the 'Taiping' ship to Taiwan, beginning a long wait. The misfortunes of history brought everyone together, and the 'Taiping' ship became a point of longing for several couples throughout their lives.
