Jason (played by Patrick Muldoon), the head of the Railroad Agency, learned from the coroner that the deceased had an egg of some creature hidden within. The subway system continued to be paralyzed, and various anomalies began to arise. Jason and his companions conducted field investigations and witnessed the terrifying sight of huge, highly aggressive swarms of spiders rampaging. They came from outer space, and the isolated, abnormal living conditions granted these creatures unimaginable powers. Before long, the military established a quarantine zone at the site of the incident and made every effort to search for the Queen's egg.
