Intro: cold waveDue to business relations, the branch manager of Xindu Bank, Ichirou Chongye (played by Kippei Shiina), meets the beautiful owner of a restaurant, Nami Maekawa (played by Seika Taketomi). Nami is a cool and self-reliant widow who struggles to support her business on her own. Chongye, who is not very happy in his family life, gradually becomes captivated by Nami's charm during their brief romance, and they quickly develop a lover's relationship. However, their good fortune does not last long; Chongye's boss, Kazuyama (played by Ken Ishiguro), is frivolous and often has Chongye handle various scandalous aftermaths due to their college friendship. Kazuyama is infatuated with the gorgeous Nami and immediately launches a passionate emotional pursuit, while Nami's feelings are quite ambiguous. Surrounded by hatred and jealousy, Chongye gradually discovers that beneath Nami's exquisite and beautiful exterior lies a meticulous heart, and his life spirals into chaos in the process... This film is a commemorative work for the 20th anniversary of the death of Japan's famous mystery novelist Seicho Matsumoto.
