Intro： The Gallows of SpringThis drama tells the story of Du Kuerong, who, guided by communists and inspired by the existence of truth, goodness, and beauty in the world, ultimately returns to the right path, experiencing growth and redemption. Du Kuerong is essentially good-hearted but somewhat willful due to his grandmother's pampering, which leads to his wrongful imprisonment. While in prison, he meets the communist Mei Yongyuan, who helps him gradually recognize the goodness and righteousness within himself. Du Kuerong tries to escape from prison, hoping to uncover the truth behind his case and atone for his past arrogance. After escaping from the detention center, Du Kuerong witnesses the harm Van Sen does to his mother, further fueling his suspicion that he is being framed and that Van Sen is involved. Hiding in a communal dormitory, he begins to help impoverished children and assists the underground party in printing progressive publications. After being discovered, he is imprisoned in a deserted island prison. After escaping from prison, Du Kuerong resurfaces but is captured and sent to a correctional institute, where he meets Mei Yongyuan again. After revealing his identity, Mei helps him escape the correctional institute with a note. Inspired by Mei Yongyuan’s spirit dedicated to the public, Du Kuerong undergoes a spiritual cleansing, evolving from self-centeredness to altruism. Eventually, he accomplishes the mission assigned by Mei, uncovers the truth of his case, punishes the wrongdoers, and upholds justice.
