In an attempt to sabotage their romance, Li Xianchen secretly hired someone to splash caustic soda on Song Danping, resulting in her disfigurement. In despair, Song Danping committed suicide by drowning, and Li Xiaoxia became mad. In reality, Song Danping did not die; she has assumed a new identity and quietly stayed by Li Xiaoxia's side, hoping that Sun Xiaoou could help cure Li Xiaoxia's madness.
