This cartoon series was produced by Cartoon Network Studios starting in 1996, with each episode lasting about seven minutes. Dexter (voiced by Feng Youwei) is a seven-year-old genius child who is short in stature. He has a huge laboratory, a pet monkey for experiments, and a naive sister, Dee Dee (voiced by Lu Peiyu), who loves to cause trouble. Dexter's daily work involves conducting endless experiments, thinking of ways to defeat his rival Mandark (voiced by Li Wanfeng), and how to prevent Dee Dee's disruptions from ruining his plans. Dexter never knows that his pet monkey is actually a superhero who, upon hearing a call, will team up with his idol Captain Grotle, Vihalin, and Cook to protect the Earth. This series received four nominations for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program, three nominations for the American Cinema Editors Association Award for Best Television Animated Music Editing, and won the Annie Award (the Oscar of animation) for Best Writing in 1997.
