In a peaceful little village, a strange disease is slowly consuming the lives of the villagers. As the only young man in the village who can pull out the Sword of the Brave, Yihiko (played by Takayuki Yamada) feels it is his inescapable duty to journey to unknown lands in search of a medicinal remedy. The elixir is soon found by Yihiko, but the story does not end there. The Buddha (played by Jiro Sato) manifests and bestows a daunting task upon Yihiko – to head to the demon king's stronghold and defeat him. The female assassin A-Zi (played by Haruka Kinami), the mage Mirebu (played by Takashi Muro) and the swordsman Danzo (played by Takashi Naka) join the quest to vanquish the demon king. Along the way, the warriors bravely fight through obstacles and enemies, following the Buddha's guidance to collect powerful items, actively preparing for the final battle. Now, with the demon king so close at hand, can these four insignificant humans truly emerge victorious against such a formidable foe?
