Yan Zhu (played by Kim Hye-soo) is a somewhat clueless single mother, whose occasional bouts of bipolar disorder deeply trouble her. Due to an unexpected incident, Yan Zhu's family faces an unprecedented economic crisis, and in order to supplement the household income, she has to rent out a room on the second floor of her house. It is during this time that Yan Zhu meets a man named Chang Ren (played by Han Seok-kyu). Chang Ren is a writer, but to Yan Zhu, he is nothing more than a suspicious and creepy man. During their time living together, numerous misunderstandings and funny incidents occur between them. Unexpectedly, these bumps lead to a unique bond forming between the irritable landlady and the suspicious tenant, as their playful squabbles quickly bring them closer together.
