In the 1980s, a 12-year-old boy named Awu (played by Gaku Hamada) who grew up in a housing complex made a significant decision after graduating from elementary school: he would spend his entire life in various well-equipped housing complexes and would never step into the outside world. Awu's mother (played by Nene Otsuka) seems to deeply agree with this, as she does not interfere with her son's decision and instead watches over this strangely-minded boy as he grows stronger and more independent. As time goes by, Awu strictly adheres to his schedule; he idolizes the Kyokushin karate master Masutatsu Oyama and vows to protect all his good friends in the housing complex. As time flows, the 107 classmates Awu was once with in elementary school leave one by one. During this period, he and his childhood friend Yari Matsushima (played by Haru) and his friends Kenmei Sonoda (played by Ayato Nagayama) and girlfriend Saki Ogata (played by Kana Kurashina) each go through life's ups and downs. The housing complex becomes increasingly desolate, and before long, Awu finds himself all alone... This film is based on the original work by Takehiko Kubo.
