One day, feeling weary, the monk decides to find a suitable person to become his disciple and take on this daunting task. Street punk Carl (played by Seann William Scott) inadvertently helps the monk in a tight spot, and perhaps through some spiritual connection, the monk senses that this brat is his successor. Thus, he decides to pass on his martial arts skills to Carl, who begins his difficult destiny of fighting against evil.
