This is a typical martial arts comedy film from Hong Kong in the 1970s. The con artist Deng Guowen (played by Xu Guanzhen) often finds himself in and out of prison. Inmate Liu Junjie (played by Xu Guanjie) is very impressed by Guowen's tricks and hopes to partner with him to make big money after getting out. Guowen does not agree, as con artists usually work alone.After they are released from prison, Junjie organizes a group of con artists to gamble against Guowen. Guowen defeats them by bribing a dancer named Peipei who is present. Junjie is even more impressed with Guowen and again proposes that they team up. Guowen eventually succumbs to Junjie’s relentless pleas and agrees. The two plan to take on the local bully Brother Quan, and to raise gambling funds, they participate in a prize-winning game show on television, where Guowen cleverly wins the prize money. The day of the gamble with Brother Quan finally arrives.
