During the late Ming period, the Central Plains and the border of the Jin Kingdom were engulfed in flames of war, with the demonic sect led by Ji Wushuang (played by Ng Man-tat) wreaking havoc. The court and the martial arts world joined forces to fight against the enemy. The top disciple of the Wudang School, Zhuo Yihang (played by Leslie Cheung), was unruly since childhood but had exceptional talent, which made him highly valued by his master, Ziyang真人. Zhuo Yihang experienced numerous adventures in his youth, meeting Wu Sangui (played by Gao Xiong), who was then just a military officer, and the mysterious wolf girl (played by Brigitte Lin).
