A strange international collaboration has produced an adventure action film. The screenplay is written by Japanese master Akira Kurosawa, directed by Russian Andrei Tarkovsky, and starring Americans Jon Voight, Eric Roberts, and Rebecca De Mornay, with filming locations in the icy, snowy landscapes of Canada. The plot describes a maximum-security prison in the Northwestern United States where inmate Manny, tormented and suffering, decides to escape.
