Their business is thriving, and Rudy (played by Georg Friedrich), a genuine Aryan, is a mutual friend who has a close relationship with them. Victor has a painting by Michelangelo in his collection, but little did he know that this precious artwork would become a turning point in their fates. War breaks out, and Jews become targets of the Nazi extermination. Victor is sent to a concentration camp, and his prized painting is confiscated by Rudy, who is now an officer in the village. It becomes a 'tribute' to please the Italians among the Nazis. Unexpectedly, the painting is identified as a forgery, and Rudy is ordered to find Victor, as he is the only one who knows where the original is hidden.
