One day in 2012, the Hecla volcano near Greenland erupted, and this devastating eruption shattered the glacier shelf, sending a massive glacier hurtling toward the United States at an incredible speed due to inertia. Meteorologist Bill Hart, living in Maine, was driving his son Nelson to the airport to send his daughter Julia to New York. On the way, he learned from a friend in the Greenland research team about the glacier's break-up, prompting him to try to escape Maine with his son and wife, Terry. The glacier's speed seemed to far exceed anyone's imagination, and Bill had to rush to New York to reunite with his daughter Julia. In the meantime, the glacier made landfall in the U.S., the climate changed dramatically, disasters occurred frequently, and the entire world was plunged into an unprecedented crisis as a terrifying ice age returned once more...
