Because the case under investigation involves political figures, detective Ichimasa Hoshino (played by Kanji Tsuda) is 'assigned' to the investigation division. However, Hoshino's nature of pursuing the truth does not change, and he begins to browse through historical documents. A 14-year-old case unexpectedly catches his eye: the maid of a Czech noble descendant, Miyako Rokumbelku (played by Aya Sugimoto), was brutally murdered, and the suspect has been missing ever since. Drawn both by Miyako's beauty and determined to clear the deceased's name, Hoshino starts the investigation.
