This white peony turns out to be the half-demon Lu Gengyun (played by He Changxi), who has existed for a thousand years. Following her father's last words, Gu Qingcheng has been determined since childhood to revive 9,999 flowers and wait for the Flower Immortal to take her to heaven to meet the person she longs for. That night, Lu Gengyun awakens in a huge white peony flower, leading Gu Qingcheng to firmly believe that he is the Flower Immortal, and thus she becomes his disciple. Lu Gengyun, in the quest to uncover the truth behind his parents’ wrongful case and find a way to extract the flower spirit, must disguise his identity and stay by her side, biding his time.
