The Duke (played by Ha Jung-woo) seeks to marry Miss Shuko, a Japanese aristocrat (played by Kim Min-hee), in order to acquire her wealth, planning to later send her to a mental hospital under the pretext of her suffering from mental illness. To execute his scheme, the Duke employs Nam Sook-hee (played by Kim Tae-ri), who comes from a family of thieves, as a maid to Shuko.
