The police quickly begin protective measures around Jin Tiesheng; however, he remains immersed in the pain of losing his girlfriend Adele (played by Lee Ka Sing). He declines the protection offered by the British MI6 and requests that his elementary school classmate, CID officer Jiao Dapeng (played by Anthony Wong), accompany him closely. As the investigations by Jiao Dapeng and MI6 deepen, many suspects are ruled out, but Jin Tiesheng encounters strange occurrences once more—Adele, who has passed away, sends him a card containing the address of a heavily protected MI6 operative, who soon goes missing. The police infiltrate a Japanese network system and uncover partial information about the masterminds behind the series of events—they have been monitoring numerous descriptions of the end of the world found in various religious texts.
