Nomi (played by Elizabeth Berkley) is a sexy and beautiful young woman who comes to Las Vegas to seek her fortune, hoping to find a job that will help her establish herself. However, upon arriving, she is swindled by a thug who steals her luggage, leaving her broke. She then meets a makeup artist named Crystal (played by Gina Gershon), and they quickly form a deep friendship. Nomi discovers that getting a job in Las Vegas is extremely difficult, and her passion for dancing leads her to finally decide to join the most famous exotic dance team in town. After going through multiple rounds of auditions, Nomi earns her role, but once she becomes involved in this complex world of glamour and vice, her fall becomes unstoppable. The once proud and self-respecting Nomi begins to sell her body to move up the ladder. Nomi becomes increasingly famous, but at the same time, the distance between her and Crystal grows wider. To make amends for their friendship, Nomi arranges for Crystal to meet her idol, only to find that what seems like an idol is actually a predator. Crystal suffers humiliation and ends up in the hospital, shattering Nomi's last illusions about fame and fortune.
