Simon (played by Vincent Lindon) and Frank (played by Gilles Lellouche) are colleagues and friends at the police station. After a perfect mission, they plan to celebrate, but on their way home, they encounter a terrible car accident that results in both of their deaths, along with that of a young child. Simon, who was driving under the influence, is severely injured and on the brink of death, while Frank miraculously emerges unscathed. This horrific disaster causes Frank to lose everything; his wife Alice (played by Nadine Labaki) eventually chooses to leave him, while Simon becomes a cash courier and struggles to maintain his relationship with his son Theo (played by Max Baissette de Malglaive). One day, Theo inadvertently becomes a witness to a gang shootout, putting his safety at risk.
