The small employee of an advertising company, Taida Kichiro (played by Sōta Matsuda), is full of enthusiasm but faces setbacks both in his career and daily interpersonal interactions. His boss, Otaki Ichiro (played by Etsushi Toyokawa), is selfish and shirks responsibility, causing Taida to be manipulated by him. One day, just before going to the Santa Monica Advertising Festival as a judge, Otaki encounters a tricky problem; a wealthy client demands that their boring advertisement must win an award in the advertising industry. Otaki passes the crisis onto Taida by tricking him into going abroad to be a judge in his place. The unsuspecting Taida first learns judging techniques from Mr. Kagami from the archives (played by Lily Franky) and then asks his elite female colleague, Akiko (played by Keiko Kitagawa), to pretend to be his wife and accompany him. Abroad, they not only face a strong competitor, Mizuse Haruka (played by Kyouko Suzuki), but also have to deal with the bizarre tricks of the judges. Will the overly naïve and straightforward Taida be able to successfully complete the impossible task?
