Because of a letter found in a stranger's wallet, a country youth named Ren (played by Kengo Kora) who works for a moving company in Tokyo travels all the way to Hokkaido and brings back a girl named Yui (played by Kasumi Arimura) whose life is bleak, to Tokyo. In the bustling crowd, the two miss each other in just a moment. Ren is accompanied by a fashionable girl named Kihoko (played by Mizuki Takahata), who is caught up in a love that is destined to go nowhere. Ren's childhood friend Natsuki (played by Aoi Morikawa) yearns to achieve her dreams in Tokyo, while Haruta (played by Kentaro Sakaguchi) seems to make her gradually realize the coldness and cruelty of the metropolis. The independent Yui works hard at a nursing home, and a wealthy young man named Asahi (played by Takahiro Nishijima) develops a peculiar interest in this stubborn girl.
