As the typhoon passes, the overcast sky lingers above the closed-off island, leaving uncertainty about how long it will last. Inside an old residential home, several gang members are unexpectedly attacked by agile intruders, who decapitate their leader, Ma Tiantai, before vanishing into the night... The next day, a female police officer on the island, Xiao He (played by Celina Jade), climbs a tree to rescue her cat and is helped by a passing man named Abu (played by Wu Jing). The two encounter three fierce Thai gangsters at a food stall. Xiao He is straightforward but unable to defend herself, while Abu easily takes down the three thugs and stays temporarily at the police station with Xiao He. Abu makes the officer who is fond of Xiao He, Tai Shan (played by Sam Lee), very jealous, while fellow officer Guan Gong (played by Simon Yam) and Liang Bao (played by Ronald Cheng) tease him coldly, bringing a bit of warmth and liveliness to the lonely police station on the island. Ma Tiantai's widow, Sasaki (played by Aoyama Renko), orders her subordinate, Fei Rong (played by Lam Suet), to bring people to the island to retrieve her husband’s head and complete his body. However, Xiao He and Tai Shan discover the hidden corpses during their patrol and bring them to the police station instead. Fei Rong and his gang storm the police station to seize the bodies, and during the chaos, Liang Bao is shot and killed. The port reopens, and a large number of police officers arrive on the island.
