Nineteen-year-old Adam (played by Jack O’Connell) is considered the soul of the useless and incompetent generation. His mother has hooked up with gang leader Peter (played by Peter Mullan), and the good-for-nothing Adam also helps his stepfather with some dirty work he can't put on public display. However, life in the underworld isn't all that easy for Adam, as he causes an accident that wrecks Peter's car, infuriating his stepfather. In desperation, Peter assigns Adam a new job, to be the driver and assistant for the cold, solitary hitman Roy (played by Tim Roth). Faced with this 'black second generation' who is incompetent in everything from letting loose to killing and dismembering, and who frequently encounters unexpected situations, Roy completely loses his temper. During their journey, the two men from different backgrounds seem to grow closer, but Adam is unaware of Roy's secret mission, and their fates unfold in unpredictable directions...
