Young Andrew (played by Dane DeHaan) is like most introverted boys: reserved, not good with words, and has mild social anxiety. Coming from an abusive father and a seriously ill mother, he becomes increasingly wary of everything around him, turning into a filming enthusiast who hides behind the camera, lost in his own little world all day long. To open up possibilities for Andrew's future, his cousin Matt (played by Alex Russell) invites him to a campus party. During the gathering, at the suggestion of Matt's friend Steve (played by Michael B. Jordan), the three of them embark on a thrilling cave exploration and unexpectedly gain the superpower to manipulate objects freely. This becomes a turning point in their lives—intense curiosity and a desire to perform drive the three of them to constantly push the limits of their abilities, while Andrew's boundless creativity makes him the standout among his friends, the star of the party. Unfortunately, the good times don't last; the increasingly powerful abilities do not bring happiness. The uncontrolled Andrew pushes things too far, ultimately leading him down an irretrievable path of destruction.
