1985, San Francisco. AIDS has just begun to break out, and the entire city is brewing with panic and unease, with fear and discrimination against homosexuality visible everywhere. Frankie (played by Scott Marlowe), a newcomer to the modern dance troupe, is often mocked by other members for his delicate and feminine movements. The two, with contrasting personalities, quickly become good friends and develop deeper feelings for each other. As members of the dance troupe start to leave due to AIDS, Frankie faces the challenge of performing on stage for the first time. However, the century's disease turns out to be the real cruel and ruthless trial of life. Frankie undergoes the first AIDS test of his life, and its result could change everything... In that era, just adding the definite article to 'Test' would make everyone understand that it referred to the AIDS test. 'Test • Love • Dance' is not only about love but also about AIDS. The director recreates the backdrop of the 80s to portray the bittersweet psychological state of daring to love amidst confusion and fear.
