Alice (Kristanna Loken) works as a ghostwriter for a well-known bestselling author. She is halfway through completing his new book, but finds herself unable to write any further. A year ago, she was involved in a serious accident while vacationing in Malta with her husband Max (Antonio Cupo) at his family's villa, which resulted in her being in a coma for two weeks. After waking up, she discovered she had lost a portion of her memory, leaving her with no recollection of the accident or her time in Malta. Since then, she has battled depression and suffers from recurring, cryptic nightmares. Max, who is also her agent, encourages her to return to Malta in hopes that being there will help clear her mind so she can resume her work and meet the publisher's final deadline. At the beautiful Maltese villa, surrounded by lemon trees, they are greeted by a stunning Mediterranean girl named Sara (Sarai Givaty), whom Max has employed to assist around the house. The girl quickly forms a bond of friendship and trust with Alice. Two women, one confident and sensual, the other mysterious and insecure... Meanwhile, a stranger named Castellano (Giulio Berruti) is lurking around the villa, observing Sara, conversing with Alice, and exchanging items with a local policeman. Are our characters truly who we believe them to be? Is there an alternate version of the truth? All will soon be revealed...
