Due to his outstanding performance as a guard at the American Museum of Natural History in New York, Larry (played by Ben Stiller) becomes the CEO of a small appliance company and even appears on television for an interview with a famous talk show host. His son admires him, and love seems to follow him like a shadow; he is in a state of success and satisfaction. However, the good times don’t last long. When he returns to the museum, he unexpectedly discovers that the curator has decided to update the exhibition and move the outdated exhibits to the Smithsonian Museum in Washington for continued display. This makes Larry feel somewhat angry; he believes he has a responsibility to restore the museum’s former glory. So he decides to stay for one more night as a guard, to rally his old friends for a collective effort. In fact, after dealing with Roosevelt (played by Robin Williams), Lincoln, Napoleon, Ivan the Terrible, and Al Capone, he encounters a formidable enemy – the evil pharaoh Camenra from ancient Egypt, and the two engage in a thrilling night showdown at the museum...
