In the coming decades, humanity's exploration and utilization of space deepens. In 2040, the spaceship "Event Horizon" utilizing space distortion technology disappears near Neptune. By 2047, Event Horizon suddenly sends a distress signal from Neptune, leading Dr. Weir (played by Sam Neill), who designed the ship, to be assigned to the rescue vessel "Lewis and Clark". Captain Miller (played by Laurence Fishburne) is not very friendly, but fortunately, the Lewis and Clark quickly docks with the Event Horizon as planned. Although life scans indicate that Event Horizon is full of life signs, the rescue team finds that all crew members are either dead or missing after the search.
