The 1988 film "Coming to America," released by Paramount, is a romantic comedy starring Eddie Murphy at the height of his fame, directed by John Landis, and featuring James Earl Jones, Arsenio Hall, and Shari Headley. The old king informs him that he needs to find the son he left behind in the United States. As a result, two members of the African royal family embark on their journey to America once again. The sequel is directed by Craig Brewer ("Dolemite Is My Name") with a screenplay by Kenya Barris ("You People," "Girls Trip"). Arsenio Hall, James Earl Jones, and others return to their roles, with newcomers including Wesley Snipes, KiKi Layne, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, and Jermaine Fowler joining the cast. It has been reported that Paramount has sold "Coming to America 2" to Amazon for a staggering copyright fee of $125 million. The sequel was originally set to hit North American theaters on December 18 of this year, but has now been rescheduled for a March 5, 2021 release on Amazon.
