Synopsis

Concerned about the current generation of young people who lack ambition and a sense of responsibility, a group of capitalists and several experts decide to conduct an experiment to see if love can inspire young people's drive. The store clerk, Wu Xiaohui (played by Alan Tam), is a representative of aimless youth; he spends his days trying to date girls with no motivation to improve himself, thus becoming the subject of the experiment. JoJo (played by Brigitte Lin), a university teaching assistant, is assigned to be the 'love machine' that provides Wu Xiaohui with romantic experiences. Through a series of chaotic, arranged 'heroic rescue' events, Wu Xiaohui enters JoJo's romantic script, and her position at the university awakens his feelings of inferiority. He then immerses himself in studying Japanese, hoping to be a match for JoJo. Deeply engrossed in this love story, Wu Xiaohui finds it hard to extricate himself from this romance, and when he discovers the truth, he decides to pursue love with no turning back...
