 Synopsis
Luca Guadagnino's debut feature film, referred to by actors as 'completely insane', also marks the beginning of his collaboration with Tilda Swinton. The film is shot in a pseudo-documentary style, telling the story of an Italian film crew who come to London to shoot a documentary about a murder case that occurred a few years earlier. As they attempt to uncover the full scope of the event from different angles, the line between reality and fiction gradually blurs, revealing secrets that are ready to emerge. Guadagnino embeds love and guilt, fear and vulnerability within the crime thriller genre, which later becomes a recurring theme in his works.
